 Hello! ** Before you start reading, please can I say  Spoiler Alert!   I whiz backward and forwards in time in the Star Wars saga and reveal lots of key plot developments-only fair to warn you ** We first saw the armour-clad bounty hunter, Boba Fett, in The Empire Strikes Back (my favourite of all the Star Wars films). I remember thinking as a kid 'who is this mysterious guy who has very little communication and never removes their helmet?'. Even Darth Vader seemed to show a begrudging respect telling him 'No disintegrations'. That was enough to make Boba Fett an extremely compelling character. Hello! I hit my teens in the 80's and I was probably a typical teenager with the usual amounts of angst and sarcasm. I can actually remember watching the first-ever episode of Blackadder and not having a clue what it was going to be about. I hoped it wasn't a historical drama as I hated history then (but love it now). I knew of Rowan Atkinson thanks to the excellent Not the Nine O'clock News. I'd never heard of Tony Robinson. The funny thing is that when I went back to school, none of my friends had watched Blackadder. Most had not heard of it. Fortunately, I loved Blackadder and couldn't wait for the next series. Everyone seemed to see the second series and it seemed the favourite of a lot of people as the Edmund Blackadder in that series was smart and cunning, as opposed to the first series where he was a bit of a drip and just stupid. Hello! I thought it would be fun to try and create an a to z list of monsters from ancient legend to modern-day pop culture. It turned out to be a lot easier than I'd imagined. If you've read any of my horror film reviews, you'll know I'm a bit of a cowardly custard with this genre, whilst being utterly fascinated (I've actually written entire books of poetry on both vampires and zombies). Hello! When I was growing up in the 1970s, we just had three TV channels-BBC1. BBC2 and ITV. In my opinion, comedy was at its zenith with the likes of Morecambe and Wise, Porridge, Steptoe and Son, Benny Hill, and The Two Ronnies.... I could go on (and will probably review all of these separately). For a young lad growing up, life didn't seem to be that serious. My sense of humour developed on the back of these comedy greats. Perhaps my favourite sitcom at this time was Fawlty Towers. I loved John Cleese in the role of the ever-frustrated hotel manager, Basil Fawlty. He was skittish with an unbounding chaotic nervous energy. I'm now going to pay a short homage to this classic TV comedy program in a short A-Z, but will later come back and drill down on each of the characters in this show. I hope you enjoy it.
